I've been going through and buying these periodically, as they are quite a good deal for a classical hybrid SACD, mostly priced a $10.49 on Amazon. Anyone enjoying classical ought to consider them.

I think there are about 20 or so titles in the series. I have 14 (well, actually 13 at the moment, they shipped me one case with no disk even though it was fully shrink wrapped and security sticker intact) and have not listened to quite all yet. They all sound quite good for recordings done in the late '50s. They are all multichannel/stereo/RBCD hybrids, but the multi mix are 3.0 (some 2.0), not 5.1, as they have preserved the original tracks as recorded, with pretty much zero processing after that, almost a straight tape->DSD->SACD transfer. A good thing IMO, I like original recordings warts and all.

Anyone else enjoying these?

I don't have any of the Living Stereo SACDs but I do have one Living Presence SACDs: Hungarian Rhapsodies by the LSO -- a 3-channel recording, I believe. I'm quite happy with it but although I'm an incurable completist I have no plans to collect them all.

Classical makes up about one quarter of my SACD collection so far. It could increase further because slowly I can tick of more and more from my pop/rock wishlist and not much gets added there while I gradually learn more about the massive amount of classical SACDs out there and my appreciation for it also grows over time.

I rarely pick stereo titles though. The surround aspect still interests me more than the high resolution.

Listened to Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade; Stravinsky: Song of the Nightingale last night (finally got an evening where the kid was not crafting little big planet levels Confused ).

Definitely one of my favorites thus far on these discs.

I've managed to acquire about 30 of these by now. Unfortunately I have bought duplicates for two of these items. These are still sealed. Anyone in a similar situation where we could simply swap (will accept other material as long as it's sealed and SA-CD)?

The two discs in question are:

Strauss/Also Sprach Zarathustra (Reiner)

Strauss/Don Quixote/Don Juan (Reiner)

In the event that you want or need either of these, perhaps we could swap should you have duplicates of anything.
