I notice that play.com have introduced MP3 downloads today and at the same time the (largely redundant) SA-CD (and DVD-A) pages have been removed.
However, inputting the legend 'SACD' into their search facility, returns a great deal of the hard-to-find beggars, some 500+ items and I found many at just 7,99GBP. _________________ A diehard SA-CD fan

You will also notice that the vast majority are out of stock.

Hence my (largely redundant) comment! But I still found a number of the highly-recommended 'Living Stereo' classical titles at just 13€, probably buried before in the old-style pages, so it was well worth it. _________________ A diehard SA-CD fan

Not that sad, as long as there are other e-tailers that sell them. Just like the shift of SACD distribution from brick & mortar stores to online shops happens, inevitably some smaller vendors who cannot keep as long tails as Amazon.com will have to cede to the bigger ones or to highly specialized ones.
The publishers' lack of enthusiasm for the format worries me more than the retailers'. |

Thing is, Play are not a small e-tailer, far from it.
But yes, I agree. The publisher's & industry's apathy is of greater concern. _________________ Field Of Sound - An Appreciation, And Promotion Of, Surround Sound Music & Films |
