According to this article http://blogcritics.org/archives/2008/04/28/070548.php, Disney offers $10 off the price of certain Blu-ray discs if you already own the DVD version, as an incentive for people to upgrade their movie collections to High Definition. You don't even need to trade in your DVD, just use the proof of purchase from the package.
Now this would be a nice thing to offer for SACDs too (though arguably the key point is to get more reissues on SACD in the first place). |

Totally agree - I have older cd's of just about every sacd I own. |

Exactly, me too! I even have vinyl copies of many of the CDs I own. Some albums I even have on all three media. Roxy Music's Avalon for instance. |
