since I started buying sacds a couple weeks ago i've fallen more in love with them. listening to bob dylan's bringing it all back home was like hearing it for the first time. even better then my vinyl copy (blasphemy as it is to say it).

what other sacds should I look into? so far I have:

bob dylan:

bringing it all back home
highway 61 revisited
desire
blonde on blonde
blood on the tracks (on its way to me)

johnny cash:
at folsom
silver

pink floyd: dark side of the moon

as well as some dualdiscs and DVDAs that I can't remember at this moment.

are there any other SACDs I should look into? rock and variations thereof preferred, but blues is ok as well.

also are there any recommendations of places to buy them? i'm going to amazon for the most part, but some things such as creedence and john lee hooker are only available used for $40.

i'm torn on that album. I have an sacd/dvd-a player on the way and tommy is available on both. since I haven't heard dvd-a yet i'm not sure which is better.

Buy it on both. 1. You will have backup copy. 2. You can see which you prefer. 3. Will save you haveign to make a decision.

that is a good idea. if I can find them cheap enough I may do that. but if it means I have to buy 1 less album or blu ray its not worth buying it on both.

If I had to choose just one medium, I would choose DVD-A....IF the disc gave you more value-added, e.g. video content. Cos, let's be honest, the sound difference isn't going to be huge.....is it?

You should check the recent Depeche Mode remasters. SACD+DVD (DTS 24/96, DD 5.1)... fantastic releases!

I couldn't agree more! I'm just not sure though whether that's Buckshot's cup of tea, judging by the music he describes.
